Silver Mark "Sterling" with Three Pointed Crown

I have a small but heavy cylindrical perfume bottle which has a highly decorative screw on silver lid. It is marked "Sterling" followed by a three pointed crown. Does anyone know where this may have been manufactured and when (nb it was purchased in the UK). Many thanks
