This is a real puzzle (to me at least). It's a sterling quality silver pill-box (modern Netherlands re-assay mark ZI for >0.925), marked with one original mark of MW in an oval. It has a push-on lid and a style typical of northern German or Low Countries boxes from the beginning of the 19th century.
After much research it appears not to be a Dutch maker. And German silver is nearly always below sterling quality. So where does it come from? And who was MW?
If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
