I have the beautiful Italian article (height - 170mm, diameter - 150mm). Let me know please its correct name and what it intended for.

Also, I have two more questions.
1. Could you please give me some more information about the silversmith.
2. Help me please correctly to read the stamp «M1695».

Thank you in advance.

A from a set abandoned inside gilded Italian sugar bowl.

Hello

It's an abandoned sugar bowl - or maybe for sweets? There fore inside gilded.

»LAV[RADO] A MANO« means hand wrought.

Please look here for Italian marks: http://www.925-1000.com/Fitalian_marks_01.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There you could see that it isn't »M1695«, but »MI695« = from Milano. An Italian register of makers I haven’t.

Kind regards silverport
