I have a silver box (L: 6 1/4" x W: 5" x D:3 1/4") which was bought in Australia. I believe it was manufactured by John Chattalier of New Jersey. The marks on the bottom are 'J' over a 'C' (they are very tiny and did not photograph at all). Under this is the word 'sterling'; and under this the number 1023. There is also an inscription "Chicago April 13 1918".
I took pics, however havn't been able to upload them.

Can anyone tell me anything about this item, maker. Where I might confirm the makers mark? Thank you.
