This is a marking by I guess Adolf Sper but it is in script not in block letters as usually the makers marks so I was wondering of it. Any input are welcome!

No problem Juke, genuine marks. Adolf Sper or Sperr used many marks among those this one. He marked A.P. in Italics or A.Sper in script, A·S or A·SPER with serif fonts. Adolf Sper was born 3.11.1799 in Kirkkonummi a county close to Helsinki, became apprentice in 1816 in St Petersburg and journeyman 1821. He was master 1829 and had a workshop in 1849 in the house of Schauman on Povarskoij uliza in St Petersburg. He married 24.6.1830 Anna Charlotta Aurin, born 3.12.1806 in Wasa in Finland. Later he also worked in Wasa. He died 6.7.1857 in Wasa.

There is a lot of thing made by him, creamers, sugar baskets, tea pots, breadbaskets, confectionery baskets etc....very typical objects for him.

The assayer is Dimitri Tverskoj 1834-1851 in StP.

Kindly show the whole object thank you.

Thanks for the input so it was as I estimated. I try to have the time to get a picture of the item later.

If there are any other information of Sper, experience of his works or about these markings by him they would be more than welcomed.

Hi -
I never have seen this mark without the abbreviation of his Christian name Adolf = AS or A Sper, with different dot(s).
