makers mark on tongs B C above & N?

l have a pair of English sugar tongs where the makers mark is one l cannot find,the tongs only have a "lion passant and a george duty mark (cameo) which leads me to think they are late 18th cent,but they are not "bright cut" and are from the "fiddle pattern* the mark is B C above & N. (could poss be a G and not C as right hand side of hallmark is worn)
l have tried a lot of reference books,l could be wrong but it appears to me that northen silversmiths seem to have more partnerships.
l do have a photo, sorry but not computer literate enough.
