Good day everybody!
I have a little spoon which I think might be russian silver
There is a little bit of history behind it........
My aunt used to work as one of the housekeepers in a big country house in a place called Colgate in west sussex near london. There were some things which she took from the hosue like china plates, cutlery, ornaments and gave some of them to her family. Her sister who was my mum got this spoon and some other things and ive resently got them from my mum.

my aunt is still alive and i thought i would add that she worked in that house in the year 1938 to 1951 when she was 31 years old she was born in 1917

Looks good but very difficult to read the maker's mark. Try to read it and tell us what you see. The left looking kokoshnik with ИЛ tells us that the assayer is Ivan Lebedkin in Moscow and that the spoon is made between 1899-1908. The maker remains unknown until you tell us the letters or show a better and bigger picture of the marks.

The technique of your enamel spoon is called enamel clausonné. Two twisted wires were soldered in a certain pattern to a surface and the little cells are filled with shaded or plain enamel in different colours. Your spoon has only 4 different colours and this ugly turquoise blotsh in the middle. The casted surface which should look like soldered wires, the many open ends of the wires (see black rectangles), the sensless colouring and the wrong marks identify this as contemporary fake. The near illegible master mark of ГК = Gustav Klingert, one of the best enamel makers (who minimum used 6-8 colours in a certain pattern, his "trademark") is typical for the fakers - they only use the most famous names but deliver extreme poor quality.

thanks everybody! the enamel clausonne sounds really interesting. if this is bad quality then id love to see a real one.
youre right. to me the mark looks like rk like you said and im not too bothered if its fake nothing gained nothing lost ey?
just another bit of junk that ive inherited. thank you for your helps

I think there is a little difference between a cautious "lookin good", the asking for more information and than a new, final evaluation - and the firm answer "this spoon is authentic"!
If you provide the asked informations, I am sure Qrt.S will tell you what you have.
