I have posted images of an Evans, NY 1857 spoon with an overstamped retailer's mark for those interested in accumulating info on backstamps. The stamps are "Platt & Bro, NY" over "Brown & Anderson". Is anyone familar with the location of Brown & Anderson?
The TE logo is also faintly struck again and partly covered by the Anderson mark.
Please identify the pattern for me.

Brown & Anderson were retailers active in North Carolina during the third quarter of the 19th C.
I believe they were in the city of Wilmington, my copy of Cutten is packed away at the moment, but I'm sure other members will give a bit more info.

Information linked concerning George Wood Platt and his brother (s) as well as George Washington Platt (son?) and those connected by family line or marriage.
