Hello! Here's a wicked little spoon that I have and am having trouble with the maker's mark. I've found lots of H&H makers, yet can't find this exact one that has the three characters stamped individually (not in individual circles or one big circle or an oval ring, etc.). In the photo, the first mark states "sterling" then "925/1000" then a 5 leaf clover-looking mark then the initials.

If anyone knows, I'd be much obliged!

Wrong section. Most probably American silver certainly not Dutch silver.

Hi, thanks for the responses. I TOTALLY agree that it isn't Dutch, I didn't realize I was posting to this forum. I checked the link above and see how it could be Hamilton & Hamilton, but in every piece I've seen by them the H marks look different than mine. Also, the internet is filled with their jewelry, but I can't find any flatware.

Hamilton & Hamilton Jr were listed in the 1890's for sure as silversmiths and silverware manufacturers.

One piece of flatware associated with the company is documented by patent No 572482 which was issued to Ralph S Hamilton of Providence, Rhode Island in 1896 for a tea strainer.

On second thought, I guess a tea strainer might be classified as holloware. At any rate, they were listed as silverware manufacturers, and that's the best I can do for now

An 1897 advertisement for Hamilton & Hamilton, Jr:

In the 1871 Providence Directory the partnership of Hamilton (Ralph S) & Hunt (George C) jewelers is first listed.
Ralph S Hamilton is also listed as a jeweler at this time.

In 1874 both father and son are listed in the partnership along with George C Hunt.

The partnership of Hamilton & Hamilton, Jr is first listed in 1883.

Another of my all to common errors, the second line in the previous post was referring to Ralph S Hamilton Jr.
