would anyone be able to identify the marks on these fishservers? they came in a case of Walker&Hall but none of the marks on them seem to correlate with that; the crown above EP means pre 1896? any of the other marks??

Hi Verrine,
They are the marks of Walker & Hall, your image is upside down. Walker & Hall are one of the very few manufacturers who used a date letter system, in this case the letter 'e' is a dateletter, but it is unknown to me.
Forum member 'paulh' is currently researching Walker & Hall's dating system, hopefully he will see your post and provide an answer.
Regards Trev.

thank you Trev! greatly appreciate the help!
I have turned the picture round - any idea what the mark between the e and the H of Walker & Hall is?

Hello.
I think that's an "S" for Sheffield.
Two of my references show that set of marks being used from 1852 to 1897.
Pat.

I don't have any references to back up the information in this post, but it might be worth considering:

thanks a lot! the post Silverly refers to would put my lower case e to 1922 (n being 1931) - so let's hope paulh reads this and can settle the matter!
greatly appreciate your help!

Hello,
Just seen this post. The marks are W&HS for Walker & Hall Sheffield. The lower case "e" is the date code for 1923.
Hope this helps.
Paul.
