Hi there. I have a Gorham Sterling Drink shaker with a Japanese hand engraved scene from 1917. Geisha lady and a man and trees and water and a dog.Seems odd and and I have been looking for months and cannot find anything on-line substantial except that it might be "Chokin Art". Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Moderators. Did you resize the picture? I was trying to figure out how to do it. As you see I tried several times. Thanks

While no expert, I have been researching my g'grandparents from that same time frame and can give a (albeit small education) educated guess.

In the words of my father, "It's just one h@ll of a conversation piece." During that time frame, China was an enigma to America & it might just be someone who had an interest in China & the money for the hand engraving. Are you certain it's hand engraved? What are the markings on the bottom? Can you upload more pictures?
