Candelabras: Unknown marks (and 800)

I have two of this item and I have never been able to identify the origin. They very nicely show the 800 for the silver content; however, the marks on either side seem to be identical and looks to be a J surrounded by an oval, ringed with a crown embellishment (I imagine a 6 pointed Maltese cross in design). Any help that can be given would be greatly appreciated!

I still have been researching this mark, but have yet to be able to narrow down a country (Generally german late 19th century in style maybe?). Any continued help would be appreciated!

Hi MacSchoen,

A belated welcome to the forum.

A sharper image of the mark will, I'm sure, go a long way to help with the identification of the maker.

Trev.

Just wondering if you ever figured out the maker. I have a pair of sauce boats with the same mark.
