Sterling Serving Spoon Mark Identification Moulton?

This sterling silver serving spoon measures 10" and weighs just over 80 grams. The mark is worn but I thought it might be Moulton. Any help identifying this mark is greatly appreciated.

If the third letter of the last name looks like a "U," I'd say it probably is Moulton. The image is not clear enough for me to say so for sure though. You might try taking some more shots of the mark at different angles and with a little different light. It helps accentuate a mark sometimes.

Thank you so much for the reply. I can't seem to get any better angles. It is so worn. The third letter could be a U but could also be a D or N. I'll keep trying on the photo.

It does look a bit like a Moulton mark, but the sterling mark is not origional. A spoon made by a moulton around 1805-1820 would not have been in sterling.

I think it's MON**** so not Moulton. Could it be Monroe? The first initial is I or T.

Joseph Moulton had a stamp that showed I.Mouton (with serifs) used early in his career (1816-1822). However with more time to look at the mark it contains too many letters for his mark.

I'd say it looks like a 'B', 'D', 'E' or 'L'. 'U' doesn't appear to fit what's left of the letter.
