Very nice piece; I particularly like the handle! Although it does not have the city mark, I believe this is by Rasmus Liisberg (1827-1875; master 1854) of Aarhus, Denmark. “13 ½ L” is the fineness, 13 ½ lødig, equal to .844.
Perhaps one of our Danish contributors could confirm or refute.
Ref: C. A. Bøje, Danske Guld og Sølvsmedmaerker (Copenhagen: Arnold Busck, 1946), p. 202, mark #1446.
PS: One interesting (or ghoulish!) note: Liisberg commited suicide by hanging on 22 Sep 1875.

indeed thats him.
In Ã…rhus there was no guardein to set city mark. Silver smith knew that 4 marsk requered. Month and city and guardein (3 marks set by guardein) andforth mark by master.
So the smith sat 4 marks - knowbody knew anyhow the marks should look. Everybody knew taht Copenhagen 4 marks - and copenhagen best silver. So our master set 4 marks because there should be 4 to be copenhagen quality.
