Sterling silver cup

Hello, I will need verifying if this is in fact a sterling silver cup by E.S. Barnsley and co. (even though the E looks weird, it is definitely E.S.B) from 1908 in Birmingham. My mom doubts that it could be sterling since it is quite heavy (weighs 278g).

It is by E.S. Barnsley and co and the date is 1903
It may have a weighted base, but it is hard to tell from these photos to say if it weighted or not.

Thanks for the verification. No, I checked and the base is hollow. Do you want me to post a picture, because I saw some sort of serial number inside it and I don't know if it has any importance to it.
