Small Etched Crystal Bottle with 800 Silver Top and Trim

We recently purchased this little etched Crystal bottle at an estate sale where we were told it was a individual Brandy bottle that was kept on the night stand in a woman's bed chamber.

Using this website we identified the 800 silver content to Karl Sohnlein & Sohne, Hanau 1888-1956. Based on style and wear it is our feeling the piece probably dates to the 1900-1920 period, but are not sure.

Can anyone give us a better idea of exactly what the bottle was used for and a more precise age?

Size is about 2" square and 6 or so inches high when stoppered

Many thanks for your help.

Hello, looks more like a "eau de toilette" bottle. The stopper is most likely not the original one. The original stopper probably was made from glass with a small silver lining in the same style as the other silver parts on the bottle. As to the dating - anything between 1900 and the end of the company is possible. Best wishes, Bahner
