He married Ann Jackson at St Sepulchre, Holborn in 1773; both were from that parish.
Richard Joseph, the son of Richard and Ann Grove of Snow Hill, was christened at the same church in 1778.
He entered maker’s marks at Goldsmiths Hall in 1792 as a watch case maker from 119 Gray’s Inn Lane, another in partnership with Richard Joseph as case makers from Vineyard Walk, Clerkenwell in 1806 and another alone in the same capacity and from the same address in 1807.
His burial in 1813 aged 63 years, late of Vineyard Walk, was recorded at St James, Clerkenwell.
