Hi professionals :)

I have an interesting mark 800M and an eagle under it on silver cup
Please see this image

Per http://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_marks_a1884_4.html 800M stands for Gustav Menmert Berlin active ca. 1890-1930
Per http://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_marks_a1884.html, an eagle stands for Bruckmann & Sohne. 1805-1973

I'm confused.

Please advice.

Thank you.

Hi all, just a guess, but I believe that in this case the M is not for Memmert but to make clear that the 800 means "800/1000" fine. Not sure what the word was Tom used back then in the discussion. Something with "milli". Perhaps someone remembers. Regards, Bahner
