Hello everyone been looking on the forum and hallmark lists and still not sure what the mark on my bracelet is.

It looks like it has the Austrian hallmarking covention stamp on it but not 100% sure its all a bit confusing to me to be honest.

I've had the bracelet for about 7 years but just wondered what the markings are as I never found out as it was a gift from my mum.

Hi Steve welcome to the forum,

Hallmarking Convention 1972 to date.

We are looking at Common Control Marks; as of 2009 common frame shape standard mark (like an old razor blade) recognized by the core image of a balance scale with the three-digit number of silver fineness ‘925’.
I am unable to identify the National assay office mark; the little mark next to the common control mark but a sharp image of the marks could make the difference. Above the control mark the letters X in square frame, P in a lozenge and unknown letter in square for; maker or sponsor mark with or without date letter followed by the fineness declared by the maker which looks like 930.
Please try to make a sharper image (macro mode camera)

Thanks for the clear image. Assayed in the United Kingdom and if I am correct the Leopard’s head for London, the fineness declared by the maker is 925. Date letter I believe to be the X for 1997. The maker/sponsor’s marks; P in a lozenge followed by B in a square is unknown to me however you could show the image to; The.Library@thegoldsmiths.co.uk
The Library of the UK goldsmiths is a knowledgeable and friendly expert organisation and in the past I have contacted them a few times with very good end results and please keep us informed of the outcome.

The mark to the right of the convention mark appears to be the mark of the Sheffield assay office.
