Hello All,

I have a miniature teapot of unknown age. There are 3 hallmarks on the bottom. One is the Netherlands silver mark from 1814-1905. I would appreciate some help with the other 2 marks.

Thank you!

Hi Annah,

Welcome to the forum.
The bad news apart from the sword (hall) mark or; standard mark for small work 833 fineness, the other two are pseudo marks; the crowned three Andreas Crosses to suggest the city of Amsterdam and the 10, to imitate an older fineness mark of ’10 Penningen’ .
Please have a close look perhaps you could find a maker’s mark.
Looking at your image, I believe this particular sword mark, the first sword mark used 1814-1905. Date wise I believe your miniature to be made around the turn of the 19th century into the 20th century.

Oel.

Oel,

I thank you again for your help!
I suspected the hallmarks might be pseudo marks when I could not find the '10'... I have had some difficulty finding a good resource for old Dutch marks. However, I have just found your work here on Dutch maker's marks. You also identify the other hallmarks so it will be quite helpful in the future. Thank you for this.
It would have been nice if this piece were older, but I'm very glad to have the question answered.

Best to you,
annastone
