I know the bottom piece is a fork, but what was the piece on top called (in the UK) and what was it used for? It's 14 inches long. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
It's a meat skewer, they were made in a variety of sizes . Rarely used these days but they have reinvented themselves as useful letter openers.
