metaMetal detecting spoils! (ring help)

Hello! I'm new to the forum and to the jewelry identification world as a whole as well. I just took up metal detecing and am looking for resources to help me identify the pieces I'm finding. I recently found a ring! Â Its hallmarks are as follows: farthest to the left, which corresponds to the metal detectors reading that it is silver; to the right of "925" is an oval with "SU"inside of it, the oval is almost a perfect circle but not quite; lastly is what I recognize as a copyright symbol stamped to the far right.
From what I've gained thrccough my research this "SU" stamp has been seen in jewelry from several countries and is not very useful in identification. Â My guess is that, since it has a copyright symbol, it is a fairly common piece. Even if its not the crown jewel I had thought of while unearthing it, its an awesome find for a rookie like me! If anyone knows more about these marks; or if my assumptions about them are true, or might be wrong, I would be very thankful. Lastly, any guess on the stone? Probably just garnet or even synthetic.(or..... a RUBY!! Ha!). I have included pictures of the hallmarks, the whole ring, and a close up of the stone. Â Thankyou to anyone that can provide any insight! Kevin
