Hi all,
the six shorter knives are marked with the maker's mark of NJJL. Who is it?

Hi
I was wrong, when I told you this maker wasn't listed. Actually because I couldn't see the mark I took your word for the letters.
There is often a problem with French marks on how to read the letters and different books arrange them in a different manor.
In any case the N is a crowned N which is not part of the maker's name but a tip of the hat (crown) to Napoleon I .
So the maker's initials are JJL for Jean-Jacques LECOMTE. Gold and silver cutlery 22 rue de la Coutellerie. Struck first in 1806 in the almanac from 1811-22. So happy birthday, oops it's mine not yours.
You should try to take or have taken pictures that show the marks more clearly. It is very hard to identify later French marks without a clear image. The problem is the photos in the books are very poor, so you end up comparing a poor photo with a poor photo, not easy.

Hi Maurice,
thanks very much for finding J.-J. Lecomte.
