GQMD 90

Several times, now, I've run across a backstamp of "GQMD 90" added to a piece of WMF "Patent 90" silver-plated flatware. I know what the WMF and "Patent 90" mean, but what does "GQMD" mean? It looks like it was possibly added later.

Any chance the mark is a post-war reference for select NATO/Allies military production items (e.g. G QMD as Germany Quartermaster Depot)? [Of course, probably not for internal German military items.] There is Bavarian china topmarked for the US Army, although the useage is uncertain.
