Hello,
We have a set of fish knives marked Joh. Wagner & Sohn. They are very ornate and we'd like to know more about them. We haven't been able to find any information on the maker. Some of the marks are different than the mark in our photo, they have the a makers mark, 800 and then the crescent moon and crown mark along with the printed name of Joh. Wagner & Sohn. Are they older than the ones that just have the crescent moon and 800 mark?
Thank you for your help.

Hello again,
We got a photo of the other marks. One of the knives has only the mark without the name, the other two have the name plus the makers mark along with 800, the crescent moon and the crown mark. I should add that on the handle the marks are repeated. No doubt they are by a quality silversmith.
Thanks again,
Darlene Severn

Hello, all pieces were made by Wilkens after 1884. Wagner was a retailer from Berlin, one of the suppliers to the Imperial German Court. He had his shop on Unter den Linden 30 (until 1913), after that it was on Unter den Linden 16. The shop existed well into the 1930ies. Best wishes, Bahner
