Hi, I have these six spoons I purchased at a garage sale. They looked old, interesting and one had signs of being repaired. They are really thin. I have been trying to find more information on them but no luck. Does anyone recognize the marks, style of spoon or design? I have included a few photos here but you can see the whole gallery at this link - http://imgur.com/a/g3RqC

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Tobias welcome to the forum.

Not British, the lion passant is walking the right way which makes it Dutch.

6 Eggnog / mocha or teaspoons; made by the silversmith firm of J. Schijfsma & Son. Johannes Schijfsma Jr, together with his father Johannes Jans Schijfsma, started their firm in the city of Woudsend and later settled in the city of Sneek , registered from 1844 up till 1902 when another son of the Schijsfma family took over the shop. In 1942 the firm of J. Schijfsma was sold to a companion and changed name.
Five of your spoons carry the Gothic date letter G for 1866, and one spoon has the date letter A for 1910 with the maker’s mark; JS above a dot for; Johannes Henricus Schijfsma, the son of Schijfsma Jr .
For more information about the lion passant above 2, the standard mark or about the Minerva head, office mark and date letters see:

Thank you very much! I am impressed how quick that was. Is it better that I polish them or should I leave as is?

You clean/ polish the spoons a little or leave it for the new owners. I believe the spoons to be attractive in their current state.
For information about silver care see;

Good luck.
