Hello!
It's hungarian. This mark was for 800 purity silver between 1966-1999. The maker was: Ãllami Pénzverde. Founded in 1922. After the II. W.W. socialized by the rule. Successor of the company is the Metal-art in Budapest.
Best regards!
Krisztián

Excellent information. I thought it looked Austrian but the marks were not right. I little surprised that is post '66 based on how it was made, I'd of thought mid-30s latest. Thanks so much for helping out on this piece.

It`s typical Art Deco and hand engraved. It must have been made before WWII. How to explain the new mark then? Cannot tell for Hungary assay office, but this is how it works in many countries; you have a silver item and you want it checked for purity and have it assayed, i.e. punched with an official contemporary mark. Assay offices do it for a small fee. People did it even on much older silver. Or it was in stock elsewhere and assayed before entering the market.Anyway, this cigarette case was made almost beyond any doubt in 30` last century. On the other hand, Krisztián will know whether excellent items like this were made in 60`. If so, I am wrong, and in that case, congratulations to Budapest silversmiths having made this in rather hard times.
Regards

Ãllami Pénzverde made excellent cigarette cases; rarely seen double hinged back, hand engraved and silver bands instead of elastic fabric.
