I have this large plated serving spoon which is 9 inches long and has interesting marks which I have tried to photograph to ask you guys if you can identify.

Image

From left to right - It looks something like A HARKERAN then a roundel with marks in it ( maybe animals rampant )
followed separately with a triangle of three pointed crowns and then a Y (with a J's tail curl) and a 4 in a little rectangle.

Image

To add to my interest the spoon is engraved

"Oscar
18 24/12 72

19 24/12 34

Presumably something to do with birthday or anniversary.

Can anyone throw any light on the origin or age of the spoon.
It is in lovely condition and quite heavy. I presume it is Plate

I have tried to show the spoon from different aspects to increase the chances of someone recognizing it.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thank You

What makes you think it is plated? The triple crown (cat's paw) and the Y4 date mark (year Y of the fourth cycle) look to me as if your piece is silver from Sweden.

Hello, this is Swedish silver. Y4 is for 1853. There is an And. Theodor Barkman in the town of Varberg. Active around 1828 to 1865, died in 1867. The town mark of Varberg is a goat, reaching up a tree, all inside a circle. Sounds pretty much like this is the one. Best wishes, Bahner

Thank You

And Oscar is a very common name in Sweden.
