This is from an embroidery scissor that was manufactured in Solingen for the Griffon Cutlery Works in New York. I have not been able to identify the "S" with the small "H" within. It doesn't appear to be an American mark. Thought it might be the silversmith's mark from Solingen. Not Hugo Sandig. Thank you for your support!

The "S" with the small "H" within it looks the trademark of (Albert Lyman) Silberstein, (Simon) Hecht & Co who were late nineteenth to early twentieth century New York City cutlery and razor manufactures. Their sterling handles were U S made and the blades were imported.
