Definitely Persian, perhaps Nada has a moment to review that mark for you.

Persian, Isfahani certainly. The name Fareed Zadawi appear. A fine piece.

Hi Hada!

Many thanks for your reply! Once more question: is "S00" (or "900") the fineness of silver? And second question: maybe you help me to identify my Persian salt cellar? See viewtopic.php?f=12&t=33712

Best regards! Alex.

The first word is illegible the second word is not Zadavi but it is Ferdowsi which makes me think that is the name of the seller rather than the silversmith himself. My guess is the first word is the name of the silver smith!

Hi annasttasiaaa!

Very interesting and useful information! Maybe you know in what town Ferdowsi worked? Isfahan?

Thanks for advance.

I never heard of a silversmith named Ferdows ( and unlikely to find anyone with that name ) That is why I kinda believe that it should refer to the name of the retailer. However, Ferdowsi is known asa highly revered Persian poet and the author of the epic of Shahnameh - the Persian "Book of Kings"- So, again, I kinda think it should be the name of the retailer rather than the maker!
