Looking for help on this (believed strongly to be German)ark

I'm looking for help to identify this and a similar mark containing only the B and not the engine. They are on respectively, the fork- and knife-handles of a 12-place set of high quality cake knives and forks bought in a JA Henckels, Hamburg box. There are no other marks anywhere, including the knife blades.
Based on what I've read I suspect they are plate, but would be interested in any information anybody can provide.
