Hello,
I'm trying to identify a strange silver or silver plated object. I thought maybe it was either a very unusual toast rack, or else a sort of rack or grill that fits inside something else, to let meat or some other food drain. It has no hallmarks, which makes me think it originally came with another piece, which would have been hallmarked. This has either 4 legs on the underside, some of which are bent, or else it sits on those 4 buttons as feet, and the things that look like legs have some other purpose. I don't know which way is up.

I would appreciate any help in identifying this object. Thanks!
Toast rack or some sort of grill?

maybe I'm off base, but the description makes me think of mazarines - we've been around that bush before (http://925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=13347) - so in the absence of photos I am staking my claim here- a 3-d mazarine. LOL

When you say, "grill," what comes to my mind is an asparagus server. These are from the 1925/26 WMF pattern book:

If all you have is the rack, itself, then you are missing the glass insert and the carrier tray.
