Fuchs or Duhme?

Post by Jag »

I found an old candlestick holder that has marks by both Ferdinand Fuchs (NY,NY 1884-1891) and Duhme and Co (Cinn,OH 1839-1910). I assume Fuchs is the maker and Duhme is the retailer, though interested in other thoughts. Late 1880s seems consistent with the style. Fuchs isn't otherwise mentioned in the forum so I hoped it might be interesting to someone.

Hi Jag,

I believe your assumption to be correct. Duhme were retailers as well as manufacturers, it's likely they were the retailer.
