I was about to ask the same thing , I thought these type of marks look more like late 18th century early 19th, totally confused

Something is not in place with this pitcher. I suspect it is a "russificated" object. It needs to be more carefully investigated before saying anything more...

I have a similar looking Austro-Hungarian pitcher from the 1840's , the hallmarks are in the same places, colour is also very similar. I am not an expert but it seems to me the drawing was added later on an undecorated pitcher, and the hallmarks were overstruck so hard that it actually made a hole

Just to give you a bit of back ground, it was give to me in 1967 as "christing gift" by Ostroróg at his home in Kadalee, Instambul.
Apparently tradition was to give something very old. I believe the Ostroróg family were Polish.

Hello numis.geneve!
Is it possible to share with us this austro-hungarian item, or the marks?
Best regards!
Krisztian

Dear Krisztian, unfortunately the jug I was talking about is in my apartment in another country at the moment, however I will post some Austro-Hungarian silver that I have here, including another similar but bigger Jug from Stefan Mayerhofer, JCK brush and an unidentified ladle.
I will post it under - Other countries
