Hi!

I'm looking for the identity of the Manufacturer, pattern name, age, etc. of this spoon (and other that I have like it), please. ANY info would be appreciated. The table spoon measures ~ 7 1/4" long and the back stamp reads "1856 WM. WOLTGE.RB" Does that mean anything to anyone?

Thanks!

The Tere Hagn book Silverplated Flatware Revised Fourth Edition illustrates this pattern as Laurel with the year 1878. Rogers Co and Rogers Smith & Co are listed as a couple of the manufacturers. I'd say William Woltge who was a third quarter nineteenth century Buffalo, New York silverplater in connection with Rogers Brothers was another manufacture.

Although I do not know how long he was actually in the business, make that a fourth quarter nineteenth century silverplater for certain.
