Thomae Co for Cartier?

Post by orthogonal »

The internet refers to this cup as "Jigger Cup" and told me it's from the Thomae Company of Attleboro, Massachusetts.
Its marked sterling + monogram. Then there are additonal "scratches" just beneath the rim and there is an irregularity at the lower side.
Are they of any meaning?

Thank you, Thomas

Plus: Is there any chance of dating it?

I found "the same" cup which was distributed by Cartier.
Could those scratches be the Cartier-Logo? Or: Is it likely that they did it in different fonts?

The fist picture is from the internet, the other shows mine with the logo overlayed.

While browsing through this wonderful webside i found a Cartier-Logo with "r" in another shape. This one fits even better.
