small silver pots - no marks?

Hi,

found these on a local flea market in Hungary. The seller was absolutely sure they are silver and gave a money back guarantee (he also has an antique shop). They really feel like silver, but have no stamps. The seller thought they might be oriental made. Any comments would be great!

I can make more Images if helpful.

Thank you!

Might they be from India?

Hi Jack,

I see this thread has been relocated to the Far East section but I do believe there is a resemblance to Kashmir silver that was also recently posted. As it was stated silver produced for local consumption was not marked. Let's see what others think.

Jack do when you have the chance read through the fine article posted here on Yogya Silver. See the library section above.

I agree with Warren, the pots look like Kutch or Kashmir silver, although this flower-and-vine motif recurs throughout Asian and East Asian art.

They might be yogya, but my guess is that they predate the majority of yogya production by a generation or two.
