London sterling silver pocket watch, 1882 - Maker's mark?

Hi,

I've recently inherited a pocket watch and chain from my Grandfather and have been trying to find out more about it. Thanks to the hallmark info on this site I've been able to establish that the watch was made in London in 1882. I'm hoping someone might be able to identify the maker. The mark is J.J (that's J dot J). Neither the watch face nor the movement have any identifying marks unfortunately. The chain has a different maker's mark (H.B) but I can't make out a date letter so it may or may not be from the same period.

Apologies for the lack of a photo - although I have a digital camera it isn't of sufficient quality to take a close up of the marks.

Thanks in advace for any help.

I know an H. Bunn and sons of Birmingham made many watch chains in the Early 20th century, but I've never seen one of his marks. Just a suggestion. If there is an anchor hallmark on the chain, it will lend weight to this maker.

Thanks for the reply. The hallmarks on the chain are quite worn and hard to make out, but I had thought it wasn't a leopard's head so it may well be an anchor, so that would make sense.

If anyone could help with the watch maker I'd be very grateful. :)
