FINTWA CUTLERY

Hello I’d like hear if there are any thoughts from the forum on the mark shown on the electroplated spoon below.

The net wasn’t very helpful at the first go when I put in “FINTWA” as the browser keep suggesting trying “fatwa”. Eventually I did find what I believe was a relevant useful reference. It was a notification in a “London Gazette” for September 1924 and I hope the following address will give access to a PDF document.

It seems that Mr A C Twaits was taking on the debts of and Finlay and Twaits’ Cutlery Manufacturing business at Fintwa works in Sheffield. We have no indication of how long the old company had been in working or how long the new one lasted.
This is the only spoon I have seen marked like this so has any body else got comments?
Fishless
Ps I hope picture is too big as I still haven't sorted that out.
