Hello,
I would be glad, if someone can tell me something about the maker of this spoon. I am no expert in french silver, but I was very impressed about this heavy spoon. I think it was made by Gustave Leroy & Cie.

Thanks and kind regards,
Ringo

According to the French Ministry of Culture websites, Leroy was a manufacturing silversmith with premises at 68' rue de Turbigo, Paris. His working dates: 15 November 1886 - 4 May 1897, which allows you to date your spoon quite easily. Hope this is what you were looking for.

Absolutely. Just remember that the Ministry of Culture database only covers makers who registered after 1878. Earlier makers can be found in the 2-volume work by Arminjon, and for Pre-Revolutionary makers you need the 5 volumes by Nocq.
