Danish Silver Bowl B.U 900

Hello All,

I recently picked up this bowl, it is gold washed on the inside and has a lovely raised floral design on the side. It is marked on the base B.U with a pair of fans 900.

I was able to find another piece with this same mark on the net, at an auction house called Bruun Rasmussen in Denmark, this was for a jardiniere which sold in 2011 but the piece has the identical mark, so I am thinking this piece is Danish...but...there are some very good hallmark sites for Danish silver but none of these show a makers mark B.U so am wondering if maybe it is not Danish.

Additonally searching under silver B.U 900 in google gives you a ton of coins as B.U in coin lingo stands for Brilliant Uncirculated so rather hard to weed through all the results... :-)

Any help in identifying this piece would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,

I'll move your post to the 'Other Countries' section to see if we have any luck there.

Thanks so much, maybe it is not Danish...but at a minimum we know there are two pieces in the world with this mark!

I guess this bowl will remain an unknown! But thanks for everyone who looked and for the forum effort by moving the post to another thread to see if we found anything there!
