Marks Help: Possible Hanau Style Box, Squirrel Finial

Hello,
After 6 months spent trying identify this piece, I'm turning to The Experts for help:
This nut(?) box appears to be in the Hanau Antique Style, however, its lion and anchor marks first sent me looking at British and US makers. Gorham & Co. ("GC") was an obvious starting point, but no luck there or with any other American makers. The lack of a sovereign mark quickly disqualified its being British, as I do know it was purchased some time between 1870 and 1925. After looking through thousands of marks — including Hanau pseudo marks, I remain utterly stumped. Any help/education would be much appreciated. I'm very new to this, but I'm finding both the detective work and the history I'm learning truly fascinating.
FYI: The box measures 8cm-W x 5.5cm-D x 9cm-H (including finial and feet).
My sincere thanks for your time!

Yes, Trev:
I've frantically been trying to delete this post because I got the hallmarks on two pieces confused (in my befuddle forum newbie head). The marks shown are the correct marks. Duh! (I cannot find the "edit" or delete link for this post as mentioned in FAQ.)

Don't worry, it's no problem. As long as these are the only marks, then members have all the information to work with.
