Desperate for info re mark on gorgeous Norway enameled pin.

Post by hiohsilver »

Hi and thank you in advance for any help offered. Sorry the 1st photo also contains part of a bracelet but the item in question is the pin. I believe it's from Norway and I'm hoping to find the maker's name behind the interesting mark. Looks like an elongated figure 8 on its side, with the point of a slightly tilted V shape intersecting the sideways 8 at the middle. Also marked 925 S. I think it's quite old - perhaps from the 1920s when they started using 925 as well as 830. It has an old style tube hinged pin stem. Here are photos - the pin in the foreground of 1st picture, followed by photo of mark.Image

Hi,
If you haven't got answer before, the pin is made by Gustav Hellstrøm, Stavanger, Norway (father and sonn) 1868-1957.

Dear Tosten, No I had not received a reply before yours. The mystery is finally solved. I had given up any expectations of receiving a reply so thank you very much and best wishes,
