HW Hallmark

Hi, wondering if anyone can help me with this hallmark on these sugar tongs.
My mother has recently been sorting out, these were given to me as a child apparently.
There were also 2 brushes and a vanity mirror, which I have identified as made in Birmingham.
I thank you in anticipation, Jess

Hi Jess,

Welcome to the Forum.

Not a hallmark, but a maker's mark only.

That would be one of the marks used by Henry Wilkinson Ltd. of Sheffield.

Thank you very much Trev
Being ignorant on this subject, does this mean it is silver or silver plate?

Thanks Jess :)

Hi Jess,

Silver plated. The Gothic letters are 'EPNS' (Electro Plated Nickel Silver)

See here for comparison: http://www.925-1000.com/platemarks.html

Thank you Trev, for your knowledge.
My other items have an anchor, that makes them silver.. right? lol

It sounds likely, but to be sure post them in the Birmingham section, one item per topic, and we may be able to tell you some more about them.

Hi Jess,

The topic was split yesterday and moved to the British Hallmarks - Single Image section. You always need to start a new topic with every item.

Your question was answered earlier, see: http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic ... 58&t=41559
