Hi

I have been trying to find out information about these marks on a piece I recently discovered. Any help and any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Anyone see a hidden "MM" to the left of the punch marks that is inconsistent with the overall design of the artwork? Agree with above, better photo needed.

Thanks for the replies.

Sorry about the quality of picture. It is difficult to get a great picture of them due to the size.

Here is another picture of the marks.

Here is the object in question.

And open, marks on inside lid opposite the hinge side.

I believe the middle mark to be '84' and someone who reads farsi believes the last one could be 'yazdani' which could be a family name. The first one they said was upside down and could either be alamat which means mark, or edalat which means justice. The same person said the image wasn't great either so have sent more images and awaiting a response from them. So far my research for any yazdani family has turned up blank so far so maybe it's not farsi.

I really appreciate the time and the information given on this post.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply.

How can you tell it is persian? Do you recognise the marks or is it the design?
