This is not typical shape of spoon bowl for egg spoons I have seen in the past, just wondering if it is or another type of spoon.
front and back of the spoon bowl photos below. Thank you in advance for any help.

It would not be an unusual shape for a salt spoon. Is the spoon a size that could serve as a largish salt spoon?

Thanks for the reply David, the spoon is of a salt spoon length, 10.5cm, forgot to add before, the spoon is by George Smith and William Fearn, dating to 1799.

Just checked my catalogue and see that I have described a pair like this as salt shovels. They are also 10.5 cm long and are by Geo Smith, 1798. I see the bowl shape as transitional between the earlier proper shovel shape and the more usual bowl but perhaps that is to read too much into a design quirk.
