Chester year a mystery

Have this bracelet and the thing is the date has me baffled.
I have tried to look the year up but no hallmark dates for the letter J.
Anyone have any ideas?

The year of assay was 1959, the maker, Joseph Smith & Sons (Birmingham) Ltd.
