mystery compote

Hello,

I hope that I am posting in the correct place. I've never used a forum before. Anyway, I have a sterling silver compote or footed bowl (with tulips leaves and grapes forming a hollow base) that has only half of it's hallmark showing since it must have been lightly stamped. I have looked and looked, but I haven't found anything that resembles this standing oval. I hope that someone here might know a bit more about it. Here are the two images. I have enlarged the mark so that it is more visible. Thank you

Ah, after further looking through this site, it looks like it is one of the "unidentifiable" marks listed in the American section.
It's disappointing that there is no information about it. Maybe my post's pictures will help illuminate the origin?
