I am so happy I found this forum! I was going crazy looking for info on this piece. It was made for the Rubberset Brush Company and says: Del Mas ORIGINAL STERLING. I'm assuming it's some type of shaving brush holder. Here are some pics:
ANY help would be immensely appreciated! I am hoping to get info on the maker and approximate time in business.

Hi Jim,
Welcome to the Forum.
Just embedding a reduced images, as those with smaller screens may not see the entire mark image:
Just wondering if that may be 'Del Mò.s', rather than 'Del Mas'?

Unfortunately I had the images on my Comcast Personal Web page and Comcast just shut down the hosting of these for all of their subscribers. I appreciate that you embedded them in your earlier post. Thanks! I"m still hoping to find more information on this piece.

Well I can say that it could be spanish "Del mas original" "the most original" or "from the most original"

Just wondering if this piece may have been made as an exhibition item:
Rubberset Company - Newark, N.J. - 1915

Could this be a one-off sterling sample of a cast production item (plated base metal), used to commemorate the designer's work. Also, if "Del Mo.'s" were the proper intended reading of the mark, the Hotel Del Monte was in close proximity to this "Spectacular Spectacular" (1915 Fair). Was it ment for them?

Hi Bladeshark
Could it be that his name is
Delmas instead of Del Mas.
Best Regards

Here in the timeline Rubber product since 1873.
They have produced a lot more than just only shaving brushes.
It might well be that this was produced in 1973 in connection with the 100-year life.
