Help requested in identifying this pheasant model

I would be grateful if someone on the forum could advise me where this silver plated model of a pheasant may have been mounted. To me it feels a lot older than the current wooden mount. Someone has suggested that it may be a car mascot, but I’m not convinced because, though it has a rod supporting it (encased in a plastic tube!), this doesn’t look like the form of support used on car mascots. It has been manufactured beautifully, being cast (in sections and then soldered), very heavy and with very detailed feathers, including the underside of the wings. So it was clearly of very high quality when made. There are no marks of any kind. It measures 6 and 1/2 inches between the ends of the beak and the tail.
Thanks in advance!
